Our Story
We design Finsnickeri products to evoke an atmosphere of warmth, exclusivity, and thoughtful craftsmanship. We invite you to experience more than just home decor—to engage with pieces that tell a story, reflect personal and cultural heritage, and bring a touch of fine artistry into your everyday spaces.
Finsnickeri began as a collaboration between my wife, Denise, and me. We wanted to build a studio where we could design and craft unique pieces that truly matter—both to us and to the people who welcome them into their homes. By focusing on superior materials and careful, intentional detail, we create decor that we are proud to stand behind.
Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana
Denise and I are native Montanans and have lived in Bozeman for much of our lives. Our appreciation for family, community, and the natural environment deeply influences how we approach both our work and design. Our inspiration comes from many places: modern contemporary and traditional styles, the design of acoustic guitars, and the rugged Montana landscape all play a part in shaping our pieces.
From Guitar Tone Woods to Fine Home Decor
Our collection features meticulously crafted items like tabletop trays, clocks, mirrors, wall visuals and more. Each piece is made from carefully selected woods, ranging from rich domestic hardwoods to striking exotics. For select items, we feature materials sourced from Gibson Guitar, where I work as a craftsman. Although these premium woods might not meet the specific acoustic standards required for guitars, they are flawless and perfect for artistic, handcrafted decor. By utilizing them for custom accents and detailed trim, we bring an element of sustainability to our craft and give each item a character that truly connects with people.
Rooted in Heritage and Precision
The name Finsnickeri comes from a Swedish term for fine woodworking and cabinetmaking, highlighting high precision and detailed craftsmanship. It also connects with my Swedish heritage, since we still have family in Sweden that we are very close with. Through our work, we hope to create pieces that bring warmth, authenticity, and lasting beauty into people’s homes, inviting them to surround themselves with meaningful items that reflect real artistry and honesty.
